Sony’s Vision-S, a concept developed by the electronics specialist to investigate applications for its autonomous driving and infotainment technologies, has been testing on European roads, with the manufacturer recently releasing footage of the program.
The car has been constructed in collaboration with partners including Magna, Bosch and Nvidia, and is equipped with a comprehensive suite of sensors including Sony’s own high-definition camera systems, as well as solid-state lidar. On the interior, sensors are used to monitor the occupants, both for safety-related applications and to optimize the performance of the in-car infotainment and comfort systems.
