The technology helps with directivity, wind channel testing and speech recognition, which are all crucial in a variety of driving scenarios.
Schüring also showcased a microphone array that functions as an acoustic camera for sound localization and problem detection, and emphasized the growing importance of NVH analysis in cars, especially with the advent of electric and autonomous vehicles.
