At Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2015 Sontheim will showcase COMhawk, its latest multifunctional controller. It has numerous applications in communication and diagnostics including its use as a CAN-to-wifi gateway, data server, telemetry node, data logger, and diagnostic device, among others. COMhawk is equipped with three CAN channels, wifi, Ethernet, optional I/Os, built-in diagnostic functions, and a webserver.
The control unit is driven by a powerful 32-bit microcontroller with a built-in NAND flash memory of up to 16GB. Developed for use as an onboard device in industrial vehicles, COMhawk has a robust design capable of operating in harsh environments including exposure to dust, extreme temperatures, shock, vibration, and high pressure water or steam jets. It also meets all of the requirements outlined by the Automotive EMC Directive.
The control unit is loaded with Sontheim’s own flexible, modular software architecture along with a complete user development environment, which enables for real-time operation and user programmability, making it reliable, reusable, and future-proof. For off-board applications, Sontheim produces a hand-held version of this controller – COMfalcon. Similar to COMhawk, this next-generation communication controller is equipped with four CAN channels, wifi, Ethernet, multiplexed serial interfaces including RS232, RS422, RS485 or K-/L-Line, as well as logging capabilities and diagnostic functions.
The show takes place June 16-18. Visitors will find Sontheim at booth 1566.
