Hiroshi Nakamura has been appointed the new president of Horiba Europe. Predecessor Hiroshi Kawamura will now serve as Chairman of Horiba MIRA and president of Horiba UK as well as president of Horiba European Holding.
Nakamura is based at the headquarters of Horiba Europe in Oberursel, Germany, and will report directly to Atsushi Horiba, chairman, CEO and president of Horiba.
Nakamura joined the Horiba R&D department in 1998 with a degree in materials science and engineering. After earning a PhD and holding several different positions within the company worldwide, he became global segment leader for automotive test systems in 2011 as well as chief manager of Horiba’s automotive segment strategy office in 2013.
During his career at the company he has been involved in the development of two very important products including the first generation onboard emission measurement system (OBS-1000), and the Mexa-One motor exhaust gas analyzer.
“It is a great honor for me to be part of a European organization in an industry with a leading technical position worldwide, and I am looking forward to working with academia, researchers and industries located here,” said Nakamura.
