FEV has acquired test system and engineering service provider D2T Powertrain Engineering. The drive and vehicle technologies development service provider will take over the business of D2T in France and its subsidiaries in Germany, China, the USA, and its interests in South Korea and Japan.
Stefan Pischinger, president and CEO, FEV Group, commented on the strategic expansion: “D2T not only offers products and services which fit seamlessly into our portfolio, but our continuing international expansion will also benefit from D2T’s global subsidiaries.”
The acquisition represents an extension of FEV’s worldwide testing and development resources to meet growing demands in its various geographic operating regions. A new FEV test and development center is currently being built in Beijing, China, as well as a durability test center in Brehna, Germany, and the company’s headquarters in Aachen are also being gradually extended.
“Following the expansion of our electronics and automotive engineering competence with the acquisition of (electronics engineering firm] DGE in 2013, we see this acquisition as an opportunity to significantly grow our test systems as well as engineering divisions internationally,” added Pischinger.
“The acquisition of D2T will enable us to serve our customers even more comprehensively in the future.”
