Located 300km north of the Arctic Circle in Finland, the Milbrook-owned Test World proving ground has announced it is to start preparations for a full program of winter tire and vehicle testing, as the first snowfall of the season signals the onset of winter. The site’s facilities include 20km of maintained tracks at its Airport Proving Ground and 80km at its Mellatracks Proving Ground.
In conjunction with the outdoor tracks, the ground’s indoor facilities afford customers services such as wet and dry brake testing on asphalt tracks, including with studded tires. Indoor ice tracks also allow for greater control over testing conditions, which the site’s operators note is of ever-increasing importance due to changes in ice tire related regulations.
Janne Seurujärvi, managing director at Test World, commented, “We are delighted to once again be preparing for a full winter season of tire and vehicle testing at Test World. We are proud to have remained operational throughout a difficult period for the industry, and are now looking forward to supporting our customers with our full spectrum of leading tracks and facilities.”
