Racelogic’s VBox Automotive has released VBox 4, the latest iteration of the popular datalogger, in three variants: VBox 4, VBox 4 Dynamics and VBox 4 ADAS.
Each variant is engineered to meet specific requirements of performance, brake, tire, dynamics and ADAS testing. The new datalogger uses a 100Hz multi-constellation GNSS receiver with RTK enabled as standard for precise data collection and real-time analysis.
Another highlight is its comprehensive CANbus logging capability. With this, VBox 4 can capture the entire vehicle CANbus, including CAN FD, ensuring that no critical data is missed. This also enables detailed analysis using VBox Test Suite software, offering unlimited data combinations.
The VBox 4 is designed with integration in mind and as such it easily integrates with third party equipment and the full suite of VBox modules and sensors, including pedal force, steering torque and wheel speed sensors.
For connectivity, the datalogger uses ethernet connectivity, ensuring reliable and repeatable testing across diverse applications — from basic open-loop tests to complex path-follow scenarios. Furthermore, VBox 4 is also fully compatible with VBox IMU05, thereby improving data accuracy and adding yaw, pitch and roll channels for dynamics and ADAS testing. The IMU05 integration also enables precise location translation such as the center of gravity.
