Sensor manufacturer SBG Systems has released a firmware upgrade for the Ellipse product line, used in both real-time and post-processed vehicle analysis. The update, available for both AHRS and INS versions, improves accuracy, reliability and versatility, enabling the hardware to meet the demands of more challenging applications.
The New Ellipse, powered by the latest generation sensor fusion algorithm, enhances navigation, attitude and heave performance, ensuring stable and accurate positioning even in high-dynamics environments and challenging conditions.
Advanced GNSS-denied capabilities have been added to the New Ellipse, which features newly integrated flags that trigger when GNSS jamming or spoofing threats are detected, and enables users to reject or re-enable external sensors – such as GNSS – without needing to reset the filter. This gives enhanced visibility and control over how a system responds to these events, enabling more precise adjustments in difficult environments.
The New Ellipse includes several features aimed at simplifying system integration. It adds support for configuration and interfacing through a RESTful API, making it more accessible for developers and integrators to work with. The interface enables fast, flexible configuration using straightforward command lines, making it easier to adapt the Ellipse to specific requirements and applications.
The firmware upgrade is available at no additional cost for all users with compatible v3.x hardware. Upgrade instructions are provided on the website to help users apply the update.
