Provider of vehicle and powertrain development solutions, FEV, and information technology company Wipro will form a partnership to develop and bring to market solutions for the next generation of software defined vehicles (SDV).
With vehicles of the future becoming increasingly dependent on software, systems must be created that are capable of rapidly processing and managing terabytes of important vehicle data.
With software-based systems on intelligent vehicles often being responsible for occupant safety, these solutions need to be fail-proof systems, designed to be robust by carrying out benchmarking and verification testing – a task that the partnership believes it can deliver.
The duo will use a newly formed innovation lab, created to drive development in the formation of core automotive use-cases, integrated system features, scalable and service-oriented software, and E/E architecture for global and local markets.
Being an SDV project, functionality features including wireless connectivity and cloud-based computing capabilities will be a focus point for the development program, alongside a joint investigation into the accelerated industrialization of SDVs.

The partnership states that it will establish a software think-tank to address the automotive industry’s need for serviced-oriented platforms, like challenging state-of-the-art mobility features such as automated driving solutions.
