Foxit has launched the Foxit PDF SDK for Desktop 10.1.0 and Foxit PDF Conversion SDK 2.1.0. The latest updates offer more streamlined document processing, compliance and automation capabilities.
Automotive manufacturers and suppliers can use these tools to efficiently handle digital documentation, including compliance reports, contracts, engineering drawings and service records. With improved OCR, refined conversion workflows and better API flexibility, these improvements help automate paperwork-heavy processes.
A new preflight functionality within the Foxit PDF SDK ensures document compliance with PDF/E and PDF/X standards. Enhancements to DWG2PDF include improved conversion progress tracking, output log control and refined color conversion policies. For LibreOffice2PDF, multi-threaded conversion capabilities have been introduced for Linux, powered by a binary engine.
Upgraded OCR features now include skew correction, image de-noising and multi-core processing, which enable faster and more accurate image-based text recognition. Performance optimization efforts have greatly improved form file import speeds, reducing processing times from minutes or hours to just seconds. Developers can now access new APIs and features, such as regular expression search, advanced image processing and text processing, and a flexible library initialization has been introduced for Foxit PDF2Office, also powered by a binary engine.
PDF3D now supports retrieving and presetting 3D views, along with the ability to reset to default views. In Annotations, there are now separate transparency settings for border and fill colors, JavaScript-based sub-actions in link annotations, and the ability to retrieve annotations by unique IDs. TextSearch has been enhanced with support for regular expressions and rendering has been improved to better support PDF pages rendered to 1bpp bitmap and Linux PDF print devices.
