At the new-for-2024 Innovation Showcase, which is free-to-attend, Derek Zarate, product manager at Mensor USA, Aaron Rayner, director of marketing at Mensor USA, and Marshall Andrews, sales application specialist, presented their session titled Advancing Hydrogen Safety: Mensor’s Precision Solutions for Critical Leak Testing in a new, engaging format. Together, they fielded questions, discussed the company’s technologies, and shared the challenges they’ve encountered, drawing from their pressure sensing expertise.
Mensor is currently researching and developing its pressure sensor technology for hydrogen applications — a rapidly growing field. “There are various parameters we need to consider, such as hydrogen embrittlement,” explains Zarate. “One way to prevent that is to use a gold plate. However, we want to ensure we meet all the requirements and develop a hydrogen-proof product.”
He adds, “Creating the device is the easy part. We’re in the process of figuring out how we can meet the necessary requirements while maintaining our accuracy. That’s why we’re here — to gather information on what’s needed in this respect.”
According to Zarate, the response to their presentation was very positive. He mentioned that exhibiting near the stage was especially helpful, as two attendees approached them afterward. These individuals are from a company also entering the hydrogen market with hydrogen storage tanks and are seeking a partner.
