UK-based electric motor developer Saietta, which is marketing a range of compact, axial flux motors for low-cost applications, says it has carried out a demanding test program in which a fleet of two-, three- and four-wheeled demonstrator vehicles were retrofitted with its Axial Flux Technology (AFT) electric motors.
The company is targeting the Asian market, where it sees considerable growth potential in the electrification of the millions of motorcycles and other light vehicles on the region’s roads. A number of vehicles were retrofitted with e-motors, including scooters, motorcycles, rickshaws, last-mile delivery vehicles and micro-cars.
“Saietta is intent on helping the world go further, accelerating toward a cleaner, more sustainable and prosperous future,” commented Wicher Kist, chief executive, Saietta. “Through widespread EV adoption and emissions reduction, cities around the world will be radically transformed, from Jakarta to Mumbai, Shanghai to Cairo.
“We recognize just how critical accessible electrification for lightweight vehicles will be in achieving these aims and we are addressing key market challenges by developing new, leading-edge electric propulsion technologies.”
