At the new free-to-attend Innovation Showcase, at Automotive Testing Technology International North America, Mensor USA‘s product manager, Derek Zarate, director of marketing, Aaron Rayner, and sales application specialist, Marshall Andrews presented their session titled Measure Matters live podcast – emerging technologies and high-accuracy pressure in an engaging new format. Together, they fielded questions, discussed the company’s technologies and shared the challenges they’ve encountered, drawing on their pressure-sensing expertise.
Mensor is researching and developing its pressure sensor technology for hydrogen applications – a rapidly growing field. “There are various parameters we need to consider, such as hydrogen embrittlement,” explained Zarate. “One way to prevent that is to use a gold plate. However, we want to ensure we meet all the requirements and develop a hydrogen-proof product.”
He added, “Creating the device is the easy part. We’re in the process of figuring out how we can meet the necessary requirements while maintaining our accuracy. That’s why we’re here – to gather information on what’s needed in this respect.”
According to Zarate, the response to the presentation was very positive. He mentioned that exhibiting near the stage was especially helpful, as two attendees approached him afterward. These individuals are from a company also entering the hydrogen market with hydrogen storage tanks and are seeking a partner.
