After setting new records in 2018, Automotive Testing Expo Europe is set to be another blockbuster when it returns to the Messe Stuttgart, Germany, on May 21, 22, 23, 2019. With over 480 exhibitors and four fantastic sister exhibitions and conferences, next week’s show is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet. The event, which is now entering its 21st year, remains Europe’s most important international gathering of automotive R&D experts, bringing together influential figures from across the industry.
In total, more than 9,000 attendees are expected to travel to Stuttgart to see and discover the latest automotive testing technologies. Highlights on the show floor include the best, new crash testing equipment, such as high-speed cameras from Vision Research and biofidelic crash test dummies from CTS (pictured). NVH testing is well represented too, with a DAQ from Vibration Research and hyper-sensitive microphones from GRAS Sound & Vibration.
Long-time exhibitor AB Dynamics will debut a system for coordinating proving ground vehicle testing, while Racelogic will showcase a new indoor positioning system. Visitors looking for proving ground partners will be able to have discussions with Millbrook, ATP, Horiba MIRA, UTAC Ceram and Automotive Testing Papenburg, as well as ZalaZone (at the adjacent Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo).
There’s also plenty on display for those working on electric and electrified drivetrains: dSPACE will showcase an innovative battery testing system, while DEWESoft will present an all-in-one device for analyzing the grid-to-wheel efficiency of electrified vehicles.
It doesn’t end there, as your Automotive Testing Expo badge gives you access to four other exhibitions under one roof. Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo is the place to be to discover real-world and simulation testing tools for autonomous systems and ADAS. The show also hosts the Autonomous Vehicle Test & Development Symposium, where more than 80 expert speakers will discuss the latest innovations that will make AVs safe and effective. Meanwhile, Engine Expo + The Powertrain Show, Automotive Interiors Expo and Global Automotive Components and Suppliers Expo will demonstrate further advances in materials and automotive components.
Finally, the free Technology Demonstration Area at Automotive Testing Expo will feature talks and presentations from exhibitors and other experts about their latest developments. For instance, Andrew Beach from Test World will introduce the Finnish proving ground’s new indoor cold-weather testing facility; Michael Beine from dSPACE will discuss the value of HIL testing, while on the third day, Thomas Kemmerich from HBM Prenscia will show a new way to perform predictive maintenance to a test vehicle fleet.
Given the wealth of technologies on show at Automotive Testing Expo Europe, as well as Automotive Interiors Expo, Engine Expo + The Powertrain Show, Global Automotive Components and Suppliers Expo and Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo, it’s well worth traveling to Stuttgart to make new business connections, strengthen existing ones and learn about the state of the art in the automotive industry.
