Last month (July 2024), Vector Informatik, a software specialist, completed the acquisition of measurement technology manufacturer Computer-Systeme-Messtechnik (CSM). The two companies have collaborated since 2015, providing hardware and software solutions for measurement technology applications.
Post-acquisition, CSM will continue its operations independently at its headquarters in Filderstadt, Germany.
CSM, a specialist in measurement technology for vehicle development, supports the transition to electric drive systems globally. The company employs more than 100 people at its headquarters near Stuttgart in Germany and in international branches, including an independent team in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
The integration of CSM into the Vector Group aims to ensure the continuation of coordinated and all-in-one measurement technology solutions. The transition will also support new developments in the long term.
Following the departure of founders and managing directors Iris and Dr Winfried Koch, Dr Stefan Krauss, who has been with Vector since 2002, assumed the role of managing director at CSM on July 1, 2024.
Krauss commented, “Our successful collaboration has demonstrated that Vector and CSM can combine their expertise to provide customers with robust and futureproof measurement technology. We aim to address future challenges, particularly in e-mobility, with further tailored developments.”
The collaboration with CSM has resulted in joint product developments, such as the Vector CSM e-mobility measurement system, which provides integrated solutions for various measurement tasks in vehicle development.
