AB Dynamics has officially opened its new £10m (US$12.5m) Engineering Design Centre in Wiltshire, UK. where it will develop a new version of its driving simulator and vehicle testing equipment. The 3,000m2 facility took three years to build, from 2019 to 2021. It has since been fully kitted out and the team have moved into their new residency.
“AB Dynamics has grown significantly over the last few years and in order to continue that trend we needed to expand. The new EDC enables us to provide our engineering and software teams with a purpose-built, dedicated facility. By bringing the teams together under one roof we are able to improve collaboration throughout the company and ultimately develop better products for our customers,” said Mark Allman, managing director at AB Dynamics.
To ensure the center is ‘green’, the building is designed to be highly efficient and has achieved an energy performance certificate rating of ‘A’. Solar panels are used to create more than 60,000kW of electricity a year. Furthermore, there are eight electric vehicle charging points installed, with infrastructure to expand as demand increases. There is also a wild grass and flower meadow currently under development to encourage and protect wildlife in the area.
