Taipei-based electric powertrain startup Xing Mobility has unveiled a prototype rally-inspired supercar with 1,350ps. Badged ‘Miss R’, the mule has four-wheel torque vectoring and is powered by four independent 350V motors.
To combat range anxiety, the car is equipped with a lightweight battery swap system that enables the entire battery enclosure to be exchanged within five minutes.
The company has applied its patented immersion cooling technology – the Xing battery system – comprising stackable battery modules, which house 42 lithium-ion cells in 3M Novec 7200 engineered fluid.
The non-conductive Novec fluid enables continuous high-discharge power output, and increased stability and predictability due to its exceptional heat transfer and non-flammable and non-toxic properties.
“Miss R is the embodiment of the paradigm shift of EVs surpassing traditional combustion-engine cars in both performance and capability,” said Royce YC Hong, CEO at Xing.
“The core idea behind the prototype is to achieve game-changing performance levels and driving experiences that are otherwise impossible to achieve in a gasoline-powered vehicle.”
The Miss R has already undertaken a series of initial tests and is due to undergo high-speed testing at full power. Xing expects to have the full prototype Miss R finished in late 2018.
Additionally, the company is working with commercial and industrial vehicle makers worldwide to apply the Xing battery system to city buses, ride-sharing scooters, construction vehicles and special-purpose boats.
