A technology tie-up between Telemeter Electronic, a manufacturer of RF test chambers, and dSPACE has introduced a new generation of customizable, high-performance radar test solutions with integrated temperature control.
Each radar test bench from Telemeter Electronic is customized, with particular attention given to the integration of motion actuators – either motorized or manual – to ensure flexibility in testing scenarios. Through the partnership, the company now offers rig integrated with the dSPACE Automotive Radar Test System (DARTS). The dSPACE real-time system can also be optionally connected to its radar test rigs.
Furthermore, Telemeter Electronic has developed what it calls the Thermo-Box, which enables testing of radars within a broad range of temperatures – addressing the challenges posed by temperature fluctuations encountered in actual applications. These temperature analyses can be conducted during product development, prototype evaluation and production.
The Thermo-Box is carefully integrated into Telemeter Electronic’s measuring chambers and, when paired with an external thermal streamer, provides an insulated environment for exposing radars to various temperature cycles. This space-saving solution offers a temperature range of -85°C to +250°C, depending on the model, enabling a wide variety of evaluation scenarios. Its design ensures low one-way attenuation of 0.06dB up to 81GHz for precise measurements, while an unrestricted field-of-view in the direction of radiation optimizes data collection.
Telemeter Electronic also customizes the design of the Thermo-Box to align with the needs of each user. The company provides freely definable automation solutions for control, measurement and operating concepts for the most productive user experience. Optional 2D and 3D positioning systems are available, providing additional flexibility and precision.
