Overview
S-E-A was founded in 1970 in Columbus, Ohio, USA. For more than 30 years, S-E-A has been developing products and providing testing services to the automotive and off-road industries. With on-site testing surfaces capable of handling most vehicles, as well as ready access to local proving grounds, S-E-A provides organizations the data to develop, refine, or benchmark products.
Vehicle Dynamics Testing
With a team of experienced test engineers, S-E-A is well equipped to help your organization perform vehicle or component testing. In addition to our outdoor test surfaces, S-E-A also offers Vehicle and Component center of gravity (CoG) and inertia measurement services on our VIMF and C1000 machines. Our facility features a low-speed, low-acceleration sled that can be used with a variety of fixtures to simulate rollovers, crashes, pitch-overs, and study both the response of the vehicle and the occupants. We have performed tests with government agencies and with OEMs to study many different facets of vehicle behavior, occupant safety, and proof-of-concept solutions to enhance vehicle safety performance. In addition to full-vehicle work, we often perform testing on sub-systems or components to analyze their performance under impact, load, or other conditions of interest. We provide thorough testing reports which detail our findings and results for organizations to use to guide their decisions.
Vehicle Dynamics Products
In addition to offering testing services, we also offer vehicle dynamics products to enable accurate and repeatable measurements and tests. Our suite of products began with our flag-ship product, the VIMF, and has since developed to include a remarkable variety of tools. Since our engineers use our products as well, your organization will benefit from tools designed with the test engineer in mind. Products include the VIMF, Driving Robots, the STRIDETM low-profile robot for ADAS testing, dynamometers for micromobility products, and more.
