Volkswagen’s newest Passat will be unveiled at the end of August before it is launched next year; until then, the only images being released are of the car cloaked in camouflage.
The ninth-generation Passat, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, sits on the latest version of VW’s modular transverse matrix (MQB evo). According to the auto maker, it has been rigorously tested globally on harsh terrain and conditions including on snow and up mountains.
The new model is equipped with new technologies including an intuitive display and operating concept, a high-quality interior, a new adaptive chassis control system, new seats and plug-in hybrid drives with electric ranges of up to 10km.
