The latest Q.series modules from Gantner Instruments are being used in high-voltage applictions to support the development of electric vehicles. There are four modules in the range – A123, A124, A127 and A128 – each with a different specification. A123, for example, provides four voltage inputs with ranges of ±100mV to ±10V, and is said to be well suited to the measurement of individual cells in battery stacks. The A128 module, meanwhile, with a measuring range of ±40V to ±1,200V and 100kHz per channel, is used in e-mobility applications.
Gantner says that all modules are used to measure voltages, currents and temperatures at a high voltage potential. Different versions are available, too: Q.bloxx for DIN rail installation; Q.brixx (the portable system); and Q.bloxx EC. The maker reports that leading manufacturers and testing institutes are already using solutions based on the Q.series, attracted by good decoupling of the channels, good noise immunity and the high quality of the measurement results.
Gantner Instruments is exhibiting on booth 1430 at Automotive Testing Expo 2015 Europe, which continues at Messe Stuttgart, Germany, until Thursday 18th June.
