At Automotive Testing Expo North America last week (Oct 20-22, 2015), Xenics debuted its newly developed Serval-640 Thermography camera, a small-form-factor, maintenance-free thermal LWIR camera for industrial use. Serval is based on the proven Xenics Gobi-GigE series and targets demanding applications in harsh environments.
The Serval-640 Thermography camera offers onboard non-contact thermography with an accuracy of +/-2°C or +/-2% (whichever is highest). The user can select one temperature range of -20 to 120°C, 50 to 400°C, 300 to 1200°C, or 1,000 to 2,000°C. Key is the complete linearized temperature data output independent of the camera housing temperature.
The P67 protection grade of the Serval camera fulfils a growing demand for rugged and reliable systems for industrial applications without the need for third-party enclosures. Its compact form factor provides front window protection to protect the lens and avoid costly repair or replacement, plus an air purge system of the encapsulated optics to allow permanent use in dust-loaded atmospheres.
