Footage released by Hyundai gives an insight into the development of the N brand’s new rolling labs – the RN22e and N Vision 74 – as well as a glimpse of the Ioniq 5 N for the first time. The fully functional vehicles were built this summer and are being used for research, development and verification purposes to trial EV technologies.
The RN22e is the N Brand’s first high-performance car based on Hyundai’s E-GMP, which forms the base of the Ioniq 5 and 6. N Vision 74, meanwhile, is a hydrogen hybrid rolling lab that shows the N Brand’s mid- to long-term vision for high-performance machines. It features a 500kW hydrogen fuel cell powertrain that has been seven years in the making since it originated in N Brand’s first concept vehicle, the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo.
Till Wartenberg, VP of N Brand management and motorsport sub-division at Hyundai Motor Company, “Hyundai N Brand is one of the fastest evolving high-performance brands in the world. All of our plans are on the right track to be carried out in line with our vision for electrification. The success story of rolling labs highlighted by RN22e is a perfect prelude to our N Brand’s very first battery electric production model, the Ioniq 5 N, coming soon.”
