Global testing, calibration and advisory services provider Exova has signed a framework agreement with steel plate manufacturer Liberty Steel Dalzell to provide bespoke testing services over the next two years.
This will include mechanical tests, including tensile testing and impacts testing, as well as chemicals analysis in Exova’s laboratories in Edinburgh and Teesside in the UK.
Murray Gilder, sector director, oil and gas and industrials, at Exova, said, “We’re excited to start this new partnership with Liberty. This framework agreement underlines our track record in the provision of technically demanding services, which help our customers meet their stringent delivery schedules by providing a fast turnaround of results.”
Simeon Tulip, technical manager from Liberty Steel, added, “The hot rolled plate products from our facility are tested by Exova to give us independent test results from an EN ISO 17025-accredited laboratory. This external testing and scrutiny of our products shows our customers that we meet their desired properties and requirements every time, verified by Exova.
“This fully audited and proven route shows we have a rigid, traceable testing method with defined turnaround times. It also means we have access to test facilities and capabilities exceeding most other steel suppliers, with complementary expertise available as well.”
