Testing and measurement company Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK) has announced the launch of the V9940, a high-force, water-cooled shaker platform that enables the vibration and shock testing of electric vehicle (EV) battery packs and modules. The system can also test e-axles and e-drivetrains.
The V9940 shaker system was developed primarily for testing EV battery systems in the prototype development stage to ensure products are fit for series production. HBK’s latest testing platform can also help with end-of-line sample testing by enabling the validation of manufacturing processes and parameters to ensure consistency and quality.
HBK’s Project Sales Office ensures that reliable and consistent data from the device under test can be collected and analyzed by managing the integration of the V9940 shaker platform with climatic chambers from other manufacturers. HBK states that by using effective interfaces between the shaker and climatic chamber, the test environment can accurately simulate real-world environmental conditions during battery tests. Additionally, the system can provide extra safety functions including isolation or containment if a thermal runaway occurs.
A service team from HBK will provide users with support and preventive maintenance to ensure the shaker system works as intended.
