Yanfeng Automotive Interiors has invested €4m (US$4.4m) in a new materials test lab at its Trencín technical center in Slovakia. The new facility is equipped with the latest R&D equipment for durability and materials testing of interior components – including instrument panels, cockpits, door panels and floor consoles.
Over the past few years, Yanfeng Automotive Interiors has been strengthening its presence and technical capabilities in central and eastern Europe. The new US$4.4m lab at the technical center in Trencín has expanded the facility to more than 4,800m2 – half of which is occupied by the test lab.
A suite of new test chambers and other test equipment installed at the facility will be used to conduct safety, durability, environmental, vibration and emissions testing of automotive interior components and materials – including instrument panels, cockpits, door panels and floor consoles.
“The technical center in Trencín is one of eight locations in our global engineering network, and it plays an important role in our research and development activities,” said Jason Xu, VP of engineering at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors. “We are pleased that the investment in the new test lab will enable us to provide the best of expertise and excellence to our customers locally.”
