FEV has sealed a deal to integrate with the e-mobility and high-voltage battery development specialist EVA, in a move that will see the FEV Group further reinforce its development capacity for the e-mobility market.
The deal highlights the supplier’s plans for strategic growth, as the company continues to expand its expertise in the electronics and electrification segment. Thanks to the addition of more than 220 experts, the engineering service provider will gain the ability to develop high-power, high-voltage batteries that comply with guidelines on energy content, range, resistance and weight.
Professor Stefan Pischinger, FEV group CEO, said, “The market share of hybrid and fully electric drivetrains continues to grow, while the expansion of range and performance in electric vehicles is placing new requirements on the development of batteries. With the integration of EVA Fahrzeugtechnik, FEV is significantly reinforcing its expertise in this area.”
As the electrification trend in automotive industry continues, Marcus Mülleneisen, managing director of EVA, spoke about what he believes the company can provide: “We have long known that the future of automobiles is electric. This is why we identify ourselves with the entire process, from the first concepts to systems, components, integration and validation to charging infrastructure. We consider ourselves to be the perfect complement to the current skill sets at FEV and look forward to the collaboration.”
