UK automotive design and manufacturing company ADP Special Products is revamping its business and aims to expand under a new brand name of Tecniq. The supplier already works with a number of the world’s biggest vehicle makers to provide technological solutions, and it believes the move will give thrust to its growth mission.
Chief executive officer and founder Nigel Lempriere and chief operating officer Tony Smith continue to lead the business, supported by the appointment of two senior industry figures to the board. Former Deloitte vice chairman Mike Dobby has been named as the new chairman, while marketing practitioner and former McLaren director John Allert joins as non-executive director.
Lempriere said, “The launch of the Tecniq brand marks a significant milestone in the timeline for the business as we look to take the next big step. We have worked to support our clients below the radar for many years, while our skill set and capabilities have continued to grow and strengthen, enabling us to offer a comprehensive and extensive service to the automotive industry. Our full ‘cradle-to-grave’ program means we can design, engineer and manufacture everything in-house, and mitigate against production and logistical delays, as well as ensure efficiencies throughout the process. Now, as Tecniq, we are shifting up a gear as we work more closely with major OEMs and low volume manufacturers.
“The appointment of Mike and John is a clear sign of intent as we look to continue to build the business and its industry standing as well as expand our operations. Mike is a hugely experienced and respected industry leader, and John is a highly regarded senior marketeer and business advisor. These two leading industry names bring valuable insights into the automotive sector and the wider industry, complementing Tony and myself and helping us pursue the exciting plans we have to further develop the business,” Lempriere added.
Commenting on his appointment, Dobby said, “I am excited to join a rapidly growing and ambitious business that has clear strategic priorities in place. Nigel and Tony have established a strong business model, just waiting to move to the next level, and I look forward to working with the leadership team to help the business fully realize its bold ambitions as Tecniq.”
