Vehicle and powertrain development specialists Ricardo recently conducted an online seminar looking at the balancing of NVH and thermal attributes in the development of EVs. The presentation covered factors such as: the increased prominence of HVAC noise due to quieter drive trains, how the integration of battery packs affects vehicle structural dynamic response, and cooling system sizing and fast-charge considerations.
The seminar was presented by Ricardo’s Cedric Rouaud, global technical expert on thermal systems; Simon Tate, manager – NVH department; Phil Crowther, head of key account management – Europe; and Clive Hughes, chief engineer – vehicle.
The webinar also provided information on tools and techniques used to reduce the development time and cost of future EV thermal and NVH technologies. The full seminar can be found here.
