Hyundai has released videos of high-performance models being put through winter testing including a prototype for the i20 N.
The videos from Arjeplog, Sweden, show WRC driver Thierry Neuville putting the i20 WRC, the RM19 and i20 N through their paces at the popular winter testing ground for automotive manufacturers.
The first video shows the i20 WRC driving through darkened roads in Lapland before reaching a frozen lake.
Next up is the RM19 skidding sideways, leaving a plume of snow in its wake as Neuville maneuvers Hyundai’s ‘rolling lab’.
The camouflaged i20 N features at the end of the video; Neuville provides commentary for the footage and views on the different models in the second video.
Neuville was impressed with the i20 N: “Very interesting car. Very precise. Very easy handling. The engine is revving nicely and the noise is very interesting as well. I’m looking forward to get this one to drive in WRC!”
Describing the i20 WRC, he said, “The WRC cars really push to the extreme. And every detail is fine-tuned to get the maximum performance and also to be adapted to a driving style.”
The RM19 was “very easy to drive”, with Neuville commenting, “I had a big smile on my face because I was driving sideways quite a lot.”
