Description of CAE for vehicle driving dynamics and fuel consumption:
We are responsible for conducting CAE in vehicle, component and software analysis and assessment using internal tools and processes shared within the Daimler truck division. We are looking for a CAE engineer to be involved in the vehicle driving dynamics and fuel consumption teams.

We are responsible specifically for:
1) Vehicle fuel consumption simulation;
2) Fuel efficiency standards calculation;
3) Vehicle driving dynamics simulation;
4) Simulation of the OBD system for exhaust emissions aftertreatment;
5) Drivetrain fatigue life simulation;
6) Electric consumption simulation on the electric vehicle.

We’re involved in all vehicle projects in terms of engineering analysis throughout the design and testing phases.

1) Fuel consumption is the most important buying criteria of customers, so fuel consumption simulation is required in all projects;
2) Fuel economy standards calculation for Japan and CO2 calculation regulation in the overseas market;
3) Vehicle driving dynamics simulation is necessary to make the best powertrain and drivetrain configuration;
4) Simulation of OBD system for exhaust emissions after treatment is a front-loading measure for alternatives of an actual driving test;
5) Drivetrain fatigue life simulation is critical to optimize the combination of drivetrain components in terms of a fatigue life;
6) Electric consumption simulation of electric vehicles.

Your role and tasks:
- To be involved in the drivetrain fatigue life simulation for all projects as a CAE engineer;
- To maintain and improve CAE tools and processes;
- To regularly communicate with colleagues in the other business units of Daimler truck froups as well as FUSO internal;
- Possiblility to be promoted to management level in the future;
- To be involved in the following areas for all of projects as a CAE engineer: electric consumption simulation on electric vehicles; vehicle fuel consumption simulation; fuel efficiency standards calculation; and vehicle driving dynamics simulation.
- To create and improve CAE tools and processes.

Required practical knowledge and experiences:
- Minimum Bachelor degree. Major in technology, or comparable level of academic ability preferred.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred practical knowledge and experiences:
- Automotive engineering knowledge.
- Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink.
- Programing knowledge.

Personal skills requirements:
- Proactive and patient with plenty of engineering knowledge.

Language skills:
- Advanced English proficiency required.
- Japanese proficiency preferred.
