AVL - Specialist (m/w) Power electronic

Tasks:

• Design, development, optimization and integration of power electronic modules suitable for automotive applications (through to production)
• Selection, requests for quotation and coordination with suppliers
• Selection of components (power semi-conductors, drive, sensors, cooling, etc.)
• Assistance with design, development and optimization of control strategies
• Selection and/or preparation and implementation of necessary test environment (e.g. integration with current simulation technologies such as HiL)
• Integration of power electronics in the complete vehicle safety concept
• Planning, construction and testing of prototypes for test bed and vehicle application
• Assistance with development of specific simulation models for power electronics modules and control strategies
• Point of contact for EMC/EMI matters
• Hands-on testing on test beds and in vehicles

Requirements:

• University / polytechnic electrical engineering degree or equivalent
• Substantial knowledge of power electronic components and sensors
• Experience in the area of alternative drives and motor technology, preferably in automotive field
• Basic knowledge of control systems for induction machines
• Basic knowledge of electrical energy storage systems (battery systems)
• Good knowledge of parameters relevant to safety
• Basic knowledge of relevant operating procedures and standards (especially high voltage systems)
• Analytical, system-oriented thinking
• Communication, organization and team skills
• Fluent English and German
