Vector expands ADAS algorithm development infrastructure

Vector has added an all-new version 2.5 of vADASdeveloper to its software line-up. The program, which provides comprehensive support for multi-sensor ADAS application developers, easily visualizes sensor data thanks to the new graphical configuration of object information.

The upgrade means that users are able to get new display windows as well as integrating reference lidar systems, in order to simplify data interpretation and the results of fusion. Additionally, a scalable recorder solution makes it possible to handle high measurement data rates – of more than 1 gigabyte per second – that are typical in ADAS environments.

To make visualization of sensor data possible, a graphical editor simplifies information mapping from application data objects (position, size, color coding for object type) to the properties of graphic objects. Predefined 2D/3D forms and a point cloud object for lidar/TOF cameras enable quick access to complete rendering of sensor objects, environmental contours and fused data.

vADASdeveloper also allows for acquiring a vehicle’s real environment data, thanks to a partially automated reference camera. Objects recognized by the ECU can then be superimposed on the resulting video image. This means developers can reliably verify their object recognition algorithms, by visually comparing the object information supplied with the real environment.

Additionally, the company has also added a number of input devices to vADASdeveloper, including the ibeo LUX, ibeo HAD, and Velodyne (VLP-16/HDL-32E) lidar sensors.
