The increasing importance of accurate and cost effective testing has become a significant issue for the industry. Vast experience in nanoparticle measuring equipment for automotive, laboratory and environmental applications has enabled Matter Aerosol to develop a rugged, portable and cost-effective solid nanoparticle counter.


NanoMet3 is the Portable Emission Measurement System (PEMS) to measure number concentration and average diameter of solid nanoparticles in the size range 10 – 700 nm under real driving conditions.


Several campaigns under real driving conditions have been carried out to evaluate NanoMet3 performance. In addition, measurements on chassis dynamometer with different vehicle engine technologies and EURO 5 emission standards have shown correlation factors R2>90% of particle number measurements between NanoMet3 and PMP-benchmark systems during NEDC transient driving. Latest results published in June 2013 by Ford Research & Advanced Engineering at the international conference on combustion generated nanoparticles in Zurich highlighted the optimal operability of the NanoMet3 under real driving conditions and the very good correlation of particle number in comparison with PMP-Benchmark systems on the chassis dynamometer.
